To destroy negative thought we must first admit that we have one. Second, identify what they are specifically. A person can be attacked by a large quantity of negative thoughts daily.
Third we must weaken the negative thought on a daily basis by challenging its very foundation. This constant daily challenging will allow positive thought to grow and bloom in its place.
A negative thought could happen at any time. You could look in the mirror and think your teeth are not white enough. You can walk don't the street and think someone is laughing at you.
Everyone has negative thoughts but it is a matter of reducing their frequency and intensity so that positive thoughts rule the day. So, if you admit you have negative thought then we can move to the next step of identifying the negative thoughts.

The best way is to carry around a small notepad and a pen or pencil. In today's technological world, you can also use the recorder feature from your cellphone and jot down what you said later when you are home.
The thing about negative thoughts is that they can hit you anytime and many times you don't even realize it. So, just be on the lookout for negative thoughts
Usually they happen when you are under a stressful moment or a critical moment. Think back in your life to some stressful moments or moments you felt bad. What were you thinking. Be specific. Catch that negative thought and write it down. This is half the battle.
Here are some examples of negative thoughts people have dealt with in a moment: She's looking at me, I feel so weak, My hair looks like garbage, She thinks I'm dumb, I'm an idiot, I look like a fool, I'm a lousy girlfriend, etc.
There are all kinds of negative thought and they run the gamut so if you have any kind of thought that makes you feel bad, write it down.
Sometimes there is a double negative thought. For example, you will feel bad and think you are and idiot. You will write down the negative thought "you are and idiot." In fact, there was a negative thought that just preceded that one. That thought may have been "I can't put the ball in the basket". So you see, there was actually two negative thoughts: one was specific and one was general.
You want to catch both. In time, you will get good at catching all of your negative thought and it can even become a fund and interesting game.
